631 Madison Ave
Memphis, TN
Built in 1935, 631 Madison Ave. fits the mold of the Edge District’s industrial and eclectic history. Originally home to Alexander Marble and Tile, the building was used as both a tile manufacturing facility and display room for the company’s products. The floors of the Madison-facing showroom still display mosaics of intricate and ornate stone tile designs.
The building is now home to Memphis’ newest premier cocktail lounge, Inkwell. The interior maintains historic features mixed with modern comforts and intimate spaces, and the exterior holds a large, semi-private courtyard for larger gatherings.
